Peter Blange Volleyball Player Biography

Peter Blange (born 9 December 1964 in Voorburg, Zuid-Holland) is a retired volleyball player from the Netherlands, who represented his native country in four consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea.
His finest hour came in 1996, when he won the gold medal in Atlanta, Georgia with the Dutch Men's National Team by defeating Italy in the final (3-2). Blangé obtained a total number of fivehundred caps (a national record) for the Netherlands, and started a career as volleyball coach after his career. He is currently the head coach of the Dutch Men's National Team.
On 2000-01-05 Blangé beat the record of international caps in the history of volleyball. In the match against Yugoslavia for the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Katowice (Poland) he earned his 464th international selection. This record previously belonged to his compatriot, Ron Zwerver, who finished his international career in December 1996 with 463 caps for his country.

Biography:

2010/11 was Ellyse Perry’s fourth season in the Women’s National Cricket League and she hasn’t even celebrated her 21st birthday!
She was once again one of the Lend Lease Breakers’ leading bowlers with eight wickets in the Twenty20 competition at an average of 17.50, and best figures of 3-12. In the 50 over competition she took 13 wickets, the most in the competition, at 9.23. Her 5-11 against the ACT were also the best ever figures achieved by a NSW bowler in the WNCL.
She was selected for the Australian team to play New Zealand and England but in a rare occurrence, she was dropped for one of the Twenty20 internationals against England. However, she bounced back in the one-off Ashes Test, taking four first innings wickets in the team’s victory.
Perry also took on the boys last summer, playing for Sydney’s Poidevin Gray Shield (U/21) team for one round. She opened the bowling and took two wickets in her four overs, with her appearance helping to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.
